The name Minthe comes from greek mythology.
Minthe was a nymph whom greek god Hades, ruler of the underworld, adulterously loved.
When his wife, Persephone found out, Minthe claimed herself superior over her for Hades love. That enraged the goddess & so she turned Minthe into a plant. Thus how the peppermint plant became.
